Bottom bar "main screen"

The bottom bar consists of up to five icons, which are controlled by the F1 to F5 buttons below these icons. The icons change automatically during operation in the transmitter menu, depending on the current window above them.

Bottom bar of the home screen

  • F1 (tool symbol) - in this menu you can change the color profile of the screen for the active model, activate or deactivate the display and recording of complete telemetry for all models, set the backlight time and intensity for the system.

  • ATTENTION: if you turn off telemetry in this menu, you turn off the display and recording of all telemetry data of the Duplex system for all models.
  • F2 + F3 (arrows) - buttons for scrolling between screens, if more than one is set for a given model.
  • F4 - button for manually starting or ending telemetry recording for a given model.

Tip: To activate telemetry recording, we recommend that you select the “Telemetry recording switch” in “Menu/Advanced properties/Other model options” to activate the recording start before each flight, e.g. the throttle lever (in this case, the recording of telemetry flight data will be automatically started after the first throttle “application”). If you select “Auto mode”, the recording will end after the model or transmitter is turned off. If you select “Start/Stop mode”, a new telemetry record will be created each time the throttle is applied.

Bottom Bar – "Main Menu"

  •  Throttle Lock/Unlock (see "Top Status Bar") – Activating this function locks the current throttle position, preventing unintended startup of the electric motor.
  •  Servo Monitor Display – Shows real-time servo deflections and channel outputs for the selected model.

Tip: Use the F3 button (arrows) to adjust the display, content, and graphical representation of the servo monitor.

  •  Custom Menu Configuration – Allows users to create a personalized menu for the selected model. For simple models without advanced functions, a streamlined menu layout without unnecessary options.
  •  Security Lock Function – Protects the transmitter against unauthorized modifications using a passcode.
    • Protected functions include: transmitter and model configuration changes, model selection, control calibration, USB connection, transmitter shutdown, and more.
  •  Quick Access to "Device explorer" Menu – A shortcut button for direct access to the Connected Devices menu.

Tip: When configuring installed Duplex system components and telemetry sensors, repeated access to the Connected Devices menu is required. This shortcut opens the necessary function with a single click.

System

The "System" directory contains a group of subdirectories and settings common to all Duplex transmitters and all stored models. The most critical settings for system operation include:

Configuration

  • MODE 1-4 – Selection of the transmitter mode. Some modes may require mechanical adjustment of the throttle and elevator stick detents.
WARNING: The new mode will only apply to models created after the mode change. For existing models in the transmitter memory, adjustments must be made in "Menu/Model/Function Assignment" using the F1 button.
  • Audio Profile – To fully utilize the system’s acoustic announcements and telemetry alerts, set this option to "Beep+Voice".
  • Date & Time – Proper date and time settings are crucial. The transmitter assigns these values to all system and telemetry logs.
  • Length & Temperature Units – Defines the units for displaying data.
WARNING: If different sensors are set to varying units, all values will be automatically converted to the selected system units.
  • Transmission Frequency – Determines the packet transmission rate from the transmitter to the receiver. For optimal data transfer speed, set to 100 Hz.
  • Screenshot Capture Switch – Assigning a switch (preferably a non-latching two-position switch) will allow saving the current screen as an image file.
Tip: The captured screen includes all displayed alerts and current values. This feature aids in troubleshooting and model setup.
  • Pre-Flight Signal Check – When set to "Yes," a range test will automatically be performed every time the transmitter and model are powered on. If the expected parameters are not met, a visual and audio warning will be triggered.
WARNING: If a range warning occurs, resolve the cause before flight.
  • Vibration Intensity – Many transmitter alerts can be set to trigger vibrations. This option adjusts the global vibration intensity.

Servo/Range Test

Range Test Mode – Reduces transmitter power to 10%, triggering a low-power warning signal. During the test, the transmitter (held 80 cm above the ground) should reliably control the model (also at 80 cm above the ground) at a minimum distance of 50 meters.

View Inputs

Graphical Input Monitor – Provides a visual representation and functional verification of all transmitter controls.

Tip: Press F1 (Calib.) to initiate stick calibration.

System Sounds

Event-Triggered Sound Announcements – A list of system events to which audio alerts can be assigned from the transmitter’s sound library. If no suitable announcements are available, custom sounds can be created.

„Duplex System Voice Announcements"

  • Adjustable Trigger Values – Recommended values:
    • Low Tx Voltage: 3.3V
    • Weak Signal: 0-1
    • Inactivity Alarm (10 min) – If no stick movement is detected for 10 minutes, an alert will sound as a reminder to power off the transmitter. The alarm is canceled by moving any control.

WARNING: Setting a high "Weak Signal" value may trigger unnecessary early warnings. Even at the minimum setting (0), a safety margin of 10-20% range remains after an alert, depending on conditions.

Audio Volume

  • System Sound Control – Adjusts the volume of Duplex system sounds.
    • It is recommended to assign a rotary knob to control overall sound levels, while fixed values can be set for specific alert groups.
WARNING: Setting the volume control to minimum will disable all sound alerts, alarms, and warnings.
    • Sound Playback Cancel Switch – Assigning a control to this function allows immediate interruption of a playing sound file. This is particularly useful when flying with background music.

USB

PC Connection Activation – Enables USB connectivity between the transmitter and a computer. A USB cable have to be connected before activating this function.

Installed Modules

  • Some transmitter models (DC/DS16II, DC/DS14II, DS12, DC/DS14) allow the purchase of software function expansion modules. This menu displays the currently installed functions and those available for purchase at www.jetimodel.cz/SWSHOP.

Tip: When ordering modules, provide the transmitter registration code, which can be found at the top of this menu.
